Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing practice originating in Japan; Rei is ‘higher Power’ and ki is ‘life force energy’ (also known, in other traditions, as chi, qi or prana).
Reiki is therefore spiritually guided, life-giving energy.
Reiki promotes high levels of relaxation and healing. It is understood that a stressed and anxious body is not capable of healing. Through the practice of Reiki, deep levels of relaxation can be reached thereby allowing the body to initiate its innate healing capabilities.
Reiki is a simple and safe technique that can be used in combination with other treatments. It works towards the wellbeing of the physical as well as emotional, spiritual and energetic body.
It is not intended as a replacement therapy for allopathic medicine but can be an effective, supportive and safe compliment to any ongoing treatments.
Reiki can be done in person or can be transmitted remotely to wherever you are in the world.
More insurance providers are beginning to offer employee coverage for Reiki; check with your provider for more information. I am a member of the Canadian Reiki Association and can provide a receipt.

It’s been a while since I showed some #reiki love…💗⠀ The other week I asked a client what had him return to see me and he paid me a lovely compliment. 👏 He said after his sessions with me he feels just as good as he does after a massage (and the reiki sessions cost less 😊)⠀ ⠀ I don’t do anything fancy. I keep a clear physical space and clear energy field (I don’t consume any caffeine beforehand and I make sure my body and spirit needs are amply taken care of so I can be fully supportive and present). I also allow the energy all the time it needs to flow so a full session is usually close to 90 minutes (and we usually start with some sharing, intention-setting, and relaxing visualization/meditation). #luxuryoftime⠀ ⠀ I received my Reiki attunement the same month I started participating in the Art of Feminine Presence. I had little idea at the time at how important these practices would become in my life. I knew nothing about Reiki when I signed up for the training but once it was all done, it made sense. The energy I often felt in my hands was ramped up and amplified and one of the symbols that we use was one I used to doodle in my notebooks growing up. ⠀ ⠀ From time to time I’ll even find myself in situations where my hands will tingle with the urge to be placed on someone’s shoulders, hands, head. (I don’t always do it but if I do, I ask permission) ⠀ It’s a difficult thing to explain but sometimes I feel an energy in a person that is troubling them (usually a kind of anxiety) that I intuitively know I can relieve them from and leave calm and ease in its place. Actually, I don’t know if some people will call that Reiki, but it’s part of my energy offering. 😊⠀ ⠀ Please DM me if you would like to set something up.⠀ ⠀ #reikiintoronto⠀ #reikisessions⠀ #reikipractitioner⠀ #healing⠀ #energyhealing⠀ #reikihealing⠀ #reikienergy⠀ #healinghands⠀ ⠀ photo by Vero Photoart via unsplash
